Vera Torres went to the Nation’s Gun Show in Chantilly, Va. last month looking for a handgun. She left with Amazing Wonder Tops.
She found the impossible-to-wrinkle blouses at a table that also featured Native American necklaces, not far from a jeweler selling $7,500 timepieces, across from a table of high-powered rifles, around the corner from herbal aromatherapy heating pads and .45-caliber handguns and a pop-up DVD store whose categories included “WWII at Sea” and “Napoleonic.”

CTIA — The Wireless Association said Thursday that Americans sent 2.2 trillion text messages last year, down 5 percent from 2011. That’s still 19 text messages per person per day.

Central bank cuts

The European Central Bank cut its benchmark interest rate to a record low but remained unwilling to deploy more powerful weapons that many economists say are needed to jolt the Continent out of recession. The central bank trimmed its main rate to 0.5 percent from 0.75 percent in a move seen to avoid the impression that it was sitting on its hands.

Earlier this week, one of my brothers called with questions regarding his cable TV and Internet bill. Without giving it much attention over the years, seems the costs began to creep up on him, and he wanted some advice.
Last time he looked at the bill, it was about $300 per month, which would make my stomach drop if it were mine. Strange thing is, his Comcast services were nearly identical to mine, yet I’m paying at least $130 less per month. Go figure.
Bottom line is that if you’re not careful...

He says that most of America’s prosperity was created using only about 50 percent of its talent, so he’s confident the country...
