Description
This position is for an experienced marketing professional with major specialization in online marketing and at least minor specialization in multimedia creation. The selected candidate will be responsible to contribute to the Company’s strategic and tactical marketing plans and messages; and will be significantly responsible for the implementation and management of the Company’s web and multimedia marketing communications activities. This person will take primary ownership for the company’s online initiatives (website, search engine optimization, pay-per-click) and multimedia deliverables (audio, video and rich-media productions). This person will manage the Company’s external marketing agencies and service providers, as assigned. While the ideal candidate will have equal experience and expertise in both web and multi-media marketing, a candidate with exceptional skills in one of these roles could be cause for adapting the role description, relying on a contractor or agency to compliment such a candidate in fully meeting the company’s needs.
The Web & Multimedia Manager reports to the Vice President of Marketing, and will work directly with a range of internal and external personnel, including the Executive Staff, and peers within the Marketing, Community and Development organizations. This person will also serve as project team lead as assigned by the Vice President of Marketing.

Technical Skills:
Demonstrated ability to understand, refine, and communicate the product offerings, goals and messages of the Company.
Demonstrated ability to create and execute online marketing and communication initiatives, including websites, SEO and PPC.
Demonstrated ability to ensure messaging and marketing programs rise above competitive noise, positioning and direct attack.
Demonstrated ability to personally create campaigns and tactical scripts; professionally record; and effectively post-produce multimedia products.
Demonstrated ability with relevant equipment and software tools: screencapture (i.e. Camtasia), audio editing (i.e. Audacity, Cubase, Sound Forge), non-linear video editing (i.e. Final Cut Pro, EDIUS), and other tools.
Demonstrated ability to think rapidly and creatively, and then communicate effectively.
Demonstrated track record of handling multiple projects with strong attention to detail, high energy and enthusiasm.
Demonstrated ability to effectively define, negotiate and manage the delivery of facility, equipment and service provider contracts.
Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with co-workers -- internally and externally; managers, peers and subordinates.
Demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively assess and resolve problems under public pressure.
Demonstrated ability to create, manage and adhere to budget projections.
Demonstrated advanced skills in common and specialized multi-media, desktop, and web-based productivity software tools and programs.
Possesses a long-standing reputation as a self-starter and completes complex marketing deliverables on time, and at or above expectation.
Speaks and writes English fluently at the college graduate level.
Professional Skills:
Preferred professional experience includes:
- Five or more years of marketing experience working in software, web-related business and/or direct experience in online demand creation, search engine optimization and pay-per-click.
- Two or more years of management experience of both internal employees and external agencies and service providers.
- One or more years at a large corporation, and two or more years at an emerging start-up, high-growth organization.
Additional preference will be given to a candidate that also has direct experience with creating online multi-media (audio, video and rich media) materials.
Educational Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or extensive equivalent work experience across at least three core areas of marketing communications. |
