Because technology companies form the backbone of a vibrant and economically growing business community, Utah's government has focused, in particular, on bringing in a variety of high-tech players. With that in mind, the state has passed legislation that makes Utah an attractive place to start or relocate a business. For example, in 2002 the Utah Fund of Funds created a series of incentives to draw funding into Utah’s economy to provide needed growth capital for promising companies. Another program, the Utah Science Technology and Research economic development initiative, enhances collaboration between Utah’s tech companies and universities, with special emphasis on areas where Utah already enjoys competitive advantage.
The Governor's office is committed to building Utah's strengths and developing an economy for the future, and it is doing so while running the state smoothly and with an élan that is capturing nationwide attention.
