Utah has approximately 130 private schools across the state, the majority of which are located along the Wasatch Front. These schools encompass a mix of religious and non-religious environments and serve a variety of student needs and abilities. They offer a range of student/teacher ratios, diversity, educational experiences and cost.
Yearly tuition averages from under $2,000 for kindergarten programs up to $14,00 for prestigious high school/college prep programs. In the 2006-2007 school year, there were over 75 private schools in Utah with tuition under $5,000 a year. Most schools offer financial assistance to qualifying families, and many of the private schools are accredited by the same agencies that accredit public schools.
