Not since Sarbanes-Oxley in 2002 has the Financial Accounting Standards Board issued such sweeping changes to generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP). But changes are coming, and they’re only a year or two away. ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers, has been proposed, debated, amended, and finalized. His experience includes assisting public and private entities in the acquisition and disposition of business components. Tyler is a sought-after resource that specializes in helping the executives of high-growth companies improve their operational results as they prepare for greater growth, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital funding, and private equity transactions. He is dedicated to making a difference for his clients and looks for creative ways to make a positive impact with everyone he meets. Tyler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and Master of Accountancy degree in accountancy from the University of Utah and is a member of the AICPA and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants. Tyler is also active in the business community and currently serves on the boards of Hale Center Theatre, University of Utah Business Alumni Association, and the Academic Advisory Board of Utah Valley University’s School of Accountancy. He has also served on the Capital Committee of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce Capitol Club and the Governor’s Advisory Council on Optimizing and Streamlining State Government. Tyler recently retired as a member of the Professional Referee Organization, where he was a referee for Major League Soccer games throughout the United States.
Shane acquired his B.S. and MAcc from Brigham Young University and is a Certified Public
Accountant as well as a Certified Internal Auditor with approximately 30 years of experience.
His areas of focus involve Outsourced CFO and Controller Services for Private and Publicly
Traded Companies, Buy/Sell Transaction Support, Business Strategy Design and
Implementation, and Executive and Manager Mentoring.
Shane’s Industry Specialties include Technology, Life Science, Direct Selling, Manufacturing
and Distribution, and Natural Resource development on Tribal (US) and First Nation (Canada)
Lands. Prior to joining the Squire team, Shane served as the manufacturing and distribution
practice area leader for the Utah offices of Grant Thornton. He also has direct industry
experience as the former corporate chief accountant for Kennecott Corporation. Shane also
leads the Transition Committee as Squire & Company, PC merges with Pinnock, Robbins,
Posey & Richins P.C. (PRPR).
