About this event

Healthcare, as we know it, is fundamentally and disruptively changing through the current Life-Sciences revolution. The life-sciences industry is discovering ways to treat patients and understand the causes of chronic disease through Genomics and Big Data. These therapies even include ways to correct genomic pathologies that cause devastating chronic diseases like Cancer, Alzheimer’s, MS, Parkinson’s, mental health issues, ADD, and autism. The tech driving these and other biomedical breakthroughs go well beyond healthcare. The life-science revolution has only been possible through the convergence of multiple disciplines in computer science, information technology, informatics, and engineering. The integration of these disciplines, which historically have functioned as distinct scientific and technological disciplines, with Life-Sciences and Healthcare is forever changing the world. The impact of this revolutionary convergence promises to enhance quality of life throughout the world; create new jobs; impact food, energy and the environment; and speeding products to market, unlike anything we have ever seen in human history.

Saint George is perfectly positioned to take advantage of this convergence revolution through major jewels within our community including Precision Genomics and the vision for Tech advancement on Tech Ridge. We must converge as a team of multi-disciplines to step into the new era of scientific and technological enlightenment.
