Ben Hodson

Ben is an entrepreneur, writer, musician, filmmaker, comic book creator, software developer, hiker, mountain-biker, surfer, rock climber, and off-road enthusiast. After spending time as a touring musician and finishing degrees in business administration and software systems from the University of Washington, Ben co-founded his first company in 2000. That business, Venafi, a security software company focused on encryption technologies for enterprises used by a majority of the fortune 500. Venafi was sold in 2020 to Thoma Bravo for $1.2 billion. After leaving the day-to-day operations of Venafi, Ben went on to start nine companies, with the most recent being JobNimbus, an end-to-end business management software solution for roofing and home exterior contractors. In January 2021, JobNimbus received its first investment of $53 million from Mainsail Partners and recently raised the largest Series B in Utah history of $330 million. In addition to Ben's business ventures, he is involved in a variety of creative projects. He's written comic books, such as the Jack Burton Adventures, Shutter, 8-Bit, and Blood and Glory. His short films, Shadow of the Mountain and Marooned, have won recognition at various international film festivals, and he recently published his first novel, Tales of the Macabre West. He's also a multi-instrumentalist musician who writes & records music under the band name: Railyard.
